Well, I finally got married on 26 May 2007. As someone who almost reached the age of 50 without ever getting married, everyone seems to have said to me "About time"! I was lucky enough to get married to Kelly Jandik. Those who have read my web site over the past three and a bit years will know that she has been my regular buddy for all that time and my model for lots of photographs.
We were married at La Perouse in Sydney. The actual spot was overlooking Bare Island, the location of our first dive together and our favourite dive site. Over 100 of our family, friends and dive buddies attended. Afterwards, we had a few drinks here before going to St Michael's Golf Club for the reception.
The day had perfect weather. Together with a bunch of members from the St George Scuba Club (of which Kelly is the President), I went for a dive in the morning at Bare Island. This was a great dive, and helped relax me for the rest of the day.
Of course, Kelly looked beautiful as she walked down the "aisle" and I was never so happy in my life to say "I do". The ceremony was tailored around our love of the marine environment and outdoors, with readings from two of our favourite books, one of which was Jacques Cousteau's description of his first ever scuba dive in "The Silent World".
