| | Rum Bottle - small Cap: cork Colour: white | Inscription: Raised J. McCarthy & Co, Rum Bottle Bottom: AGM Found: Shiprock, Sydney Comment: J. McCarthy & Co still operates in Sydney. They are still in the hospitality business, today wholesaling glasses to pubs etc. It seems this bottle was made for them by Australian Glass Manufacturers. They then sold them to various companies/hotels who then filled them with rum and sold under their own label. I have seen an example where it is badged as Tooth & Co but bottled by the Coogee Bay Hotel. |
